This a cappella women’s ensemble caters for voices from 18 – 35 years of age. All experienced choristers, AURORA performs a range of repertoire from early music to contemporary pop. The group made its 4.5 star debut in the 2010 Adelaide International Fringe Festival with That Lonesome Road and recently completed its acclaimed season of FEVER in the 2011 Fringe Festival, being described as “they got rhythm… and seriously good voices”. (Adelaide Advertiser March 2011)
In addition to its self-promoted concerts, AURORA also performs for community events, most notably A Night for Novita, the inaugural Light the Night for the Leukaemia Foundation, Guide Dogs for the Blind, weddings, soirees and independent concert programmes.
In July 2010 Aurora represented Australia in Canada, at the International Choral Kathaumixw Festival in beautiful Powell River, British Columbia. They also toured extensively in regional BC and Alberta.
In February 2011 Aurora was honoured to perform as part of the 3rd Anniversary of the Apology to the Stolen Generation with the Ngarrinjeri Miminar Kaikulun women’s choir from Murray Bridge.
Aurora's recent concert project was "Human and Divine" two performances of sacred and secular, featuring Britten's Ceremony of Carols for voices and harp.
